Top 3 Reasons to Elope in Florida
If Florida is on your elopement maybe-list, this short article will help you determine whether the Sunshine State is worth considering as a serious option for your elopement.
Top 3 Reasons to Elope in Florida
The Things to Do
In my experience, couples who end up booking an elopement in Florida do it with equal parts adventure and vacation in mind. Miami is usually high on their list of visits because of its Cuban influence, beach culture, and the feeling of being on the set of popular crime shows. Disney, of course, is nearly second-to-none, and regularly shows up in the itinerary of couples.
In addition to general Florida hot spots, you’ll find animals like alligators, panthers, and manatees in places like the Everglades, Biscayne, and other national parks, which I would love to introduce you to.
If you’re interested in having a memorable honeymoon, I have fun recommendations like visiting the Bok Tower bird sanctuary, scuba diving in underground caves, petting wolves, or walking through a free-roaming monkey zoo.

The Places to Go
Florida is all about sunny days and beautiful spots, making it a top destination for elopements. The weather is warm and pleasant, especially in spring and fall, perfect for outdoor ceremonies. Summer can get hot and humid, but if you're up for it, the beaches and parks are stunning.
It’s the Sunshine State for a reason! Florida is a top destination for vacations, retirement, and elopements because of the weather, which is warm all year round, the things to do, and the scenery.
While the State and National Parks don’t get much better than the whimsical charm that is southern Florida, there is plenty to find right beneath your nose, like these popular venues and easily accessible Airbnbs.
You Can Elope Easily
There are no residency requirements, and a license is available same day for $90. You can choose any officiant, some couples choose a friend or family member, and you can have 0-2 witnesses, depending on your preference.
